A 27 year old from the Isle of Wight has died in France after falling down a ravine.
Hampshire Police told the family of Jamie Rolfe's death on Thursday evening (January 27, 2011).
Jamie’s parents, who do not wish to be named, said:
“We’ll remember Jamie as a lively free spirit with a zest for life and an enthusiasm for travelling. He taught English to university students while living in China, and also visited Africa and South-East Asia.
“Jamie was a bright and talented son who was sociable with many friends in different parts of the world.
“His creative and artistic character meant he had an affinity for learning and playing music, and studied film at Falmouth University.
“He loved outdoor sports and it was a dream job to work as a chalet rep in the Alps, where he could also pursue his passion for snowboarding.
“We are shocked and devastated by the death of Jamie, who brought so much joy and happiness to our lives, and lived his life to the full by embracing exciting opportunities and adventures.”
Jamie Rolfe was born in London and moved to the Isle of Wight with his family when he was two years old. He went to Newport C of E Primary School, Nodehill Middle School and Carisbrooke High School on the Isle of Wight.
