Isle of Wight Festival Keeps Its Licence
The Isle of Wight festival's been told it can keep its licence.
A licensing hearing's been taking place at an Isle of Wight Council committee meeting after a complaint by island firm GKN, which says it lost thousands of pounds because of the chaos at this year's event.
Carparks ended up as mudbaths after heavy rain and cars had to be towed in by tractors and 4x4s.
The organiser John Giddings says a new £200,000 car park plan's ready for next year.
The number of car parks and their entrances will be increased, and there will be metal tracks for cars to drive on.
Parking charges will also be introduced to encourage festival-goers to use public transport.
