Fareham Borough Council's Enforcement Officers have been cracking down on untaxed cars in the area.
Between April and December 2010 they found 373 cases which they then reported to the DVLA. Other agencies working within the Borough such as Police and PCSOs spotted a further 34, meaning in total they found 407 untaxed cars.
The DVLA take action on every report that they receive, if an offender does not settle the matter by way of an out of court settlement they will proceed to prosecution.
Executive Member for Public Protection, Councillor Arthur Mandry said: "I'm pleased that the work of our Enforcement Officers has helped the DVLA in successfully fining those who been using untaxed vehicles on public highways and car parks."
