A man's been attacked in his flat in Hamble by five burglars armed with a crowbar and a knife.
At about 11.25pm on Monday, November 18, five youths in their late teens to early twenties kicked in the front door of the flat in Chadwick Way.
Armed with a crowbar and a knife, they punched the 60-year-old man in the face and demanded property.
They held him on the floor while they searched the flat and his pockets. Other residents heard the incident, saw the youths leave and rang the police.
The group included black and white youths, all wearing hooded tops and face scarves.
They stole wrapped Christmas presents and £55 in cash. Police think they may have had a car parked in a nearby street.
PC Louise Hawkins is appealing for information from anyone who saw the group:
"The victim is very shocked and is recovering with his family.
"He has no idea why his home was attacked.
"I would appeal to anyone who saw an unfamiliar group or vehicle in the Chadwick Way area of Hamble on Monday night to contact me at Eastleigh CID"
