Four Arrested Over Machete Attack
Police in Southampton have made four arrests after man was attacked in a flat in Southampton.
The 24-year-old polish man was at his home address in Derby Road when a group forced their way in and assaulted him with a machete causing cuts to his legs, head and body.
It happened between 6pm and 6.40pm on Sunday, June 5.
Four people have been arrested - they're all Polish nationals with home addresses in Southampton:
A 33-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, he's been bailed until August the 11th.
A 24-year-old man on suspicion of drugs offences, he has been bailed pending further enquiries to report back to Southampton Central police station on August 4.
A 27-year old woman on suspicion of drugs offences, she has been bailed pending further enquiries to report back to Southampton Central police station on August 4.
23-year-old Emilia Czubak of Derby Road, Southampton has been charged with being concerned in the supply of class B drugs. She was due to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 9
The victim was taken to Southampton General hospital where he was treated for his injuries which were not life threatening.
Detective Inspector Charlie Rimmer of Bitterne CID said:
"This was a sustained targeted attack on a lone man. At this time we believe the attack may be linked to drugs.
“A dedicated investigation team is continuing to progress lines of enquiry identified by detectives, and examine information gathered as a result of strong Safer Neighbourhood team links with the local community.
“I would encourage anyone with information relating to this incident or those responsible to contact us. All calls will be handled in the strictest confidence.
"Information can also be forwarded to the investigation team anonymously."
