A former police constable has been jailed for three years for disclosing information and intelligence to alleged criminals, according to a court spokesman.
Rebecca Swanston, 28, who used to work for the Hampshire force, pleaded guilty at Winchester Crown Court to three counts of misconduct in a public office between January and October 2012.
She was sentenced to three years' imprisonment for each offence, to run concurrently. She was also ordered to pay a £120 victim surcharge.
A previous court hearing was told that, in the first count, she provided confidential information to Miguel Sewell and failed to report that he had been in possession of a class A drug and that he had confessed to an assault with a weapon.
In the second count, Swanston gave confidential information and two police shirts to Robert Morris and advised him about police procedures.
In count three, she gave confidential information to Tariq Khan, who then gave the information to Alex Morris and this had frustrated an ongoing investigation into serious offences.
Swanston, of Lomond Close, Portsmouth, was based at Southampton Central police station at the time of the alleged offences.
She was dismissed from Hampshire Police in November 2012, the force said.
