A woman was indecently assaulted in the evening of Sunday 15th at the Isle of Wight Festival.
The woman, aged in her 40s from the island, was standing by herself in the Cabaret Club waiting for friends between 6.30pm and 7pm on Sunday, June 15, 2014.
She was approached from behind by a man who assaulted her physically and indecently for approximately five to ten minutes before walking away.
The woman was not injured, but the assault left her upset and distressed.
A woman not known to the victim approached her a short time later to check on her welfare.
Detectives have been pursuing several lines of enquiry over the past few weeks, and are now in a position to issue an E-fit picture of the man.
A suspect is described as:
Aged in his early 40s
Short slightly spiky mousey brown coloured hair with sideburns
A medium sized pointy nose
A slim oval face
Some light face stubble.
The suspect was wearing:
A tree/forest green short sleeved polo shirt with a white “10” chest logo and a white stripe around the collar of the shirt
Fawn shorts, socks and trainers.
He wore a watch on the left hand.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Vici Hayward of Isle of Wight CID said:
“We are keen to talk to anyone who was in the Cabaret Club between 6.30pm and 7pm watching the burlesque show on Sunday, June 15. They may have seen this incident, which occurred at the entrance to the show floor, particularly the woman who spoke to the victim to check on her welfare.”
