Couple Attacked In Southampton

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man and woman were attacked by a group of youths in Southampton.

The incident happened at about 12.45am on Saturday October 13, in Vine Road, Southampton.

The 47-year-old man approached the group who were pushing over bins in the street. When they threatened him he walked away but they followed and attacked him.

The man's 51-year-old partner was also assaulted when she tried to help him.

The couple both received treatment for their injuries at Southampton General Hospital. The man had a badly bruised eye and factured wrist and the woman was treated for bruising.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Martin Brewer said:

"Exact circumstances are still under investigation and we are keen for witnesses to come forward and assist us with our enquiries."
