Police are looking into a botched robbery attempt at a house in Southampton in which a family heard robbers mutter to each other that they'd got the wrong house.
It happened at about 2.15am on Sunday (29th January 2012) in Grove Road in Shirley.
Three men - wearing balaclavas - knocked on the door. The 51-year-old father answered and they pushed past him, and ordered him and his 16-year-old son to sit down and stay put.
They then searched the house, but were overheard saying 'we've got the wrong house.'
They left soon afterwards.
The man and his son weren't hurt. The wife and 5-year-old daughter were also in the house at the time.
Police are now appealing for witnesses.
They've done a thorough search of the house, carried out house to house enquiries and looking through CCTV footage.
People with any information should call Shirley CID on 101.
