Armed Robbery In Gosport
Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery at a Gosport betting shop.
Two men entered a Ladbrokes betting shop in Forton Road shortly after 8pm on Thursday, October 18, 2012.
It’s alleged one man was carrying a knife and demanded shop staff hand over money. A cash tin and some money from a till was handed over and it's thought that around £400 was stolen.
No one was injured and police say the two suspects left the shop together and were seen cycling towards Brougham Street and onto the cycle track alongside Ann’s Hill Road.
Sergeant Liam Davies said: “Were you in the area of Ladbrokes, Brougham Street and Ann’s Hill Road between 8pm and 8.45pm on Thursday. Did you see two men on bicycles or acting suspiciously? In what direction were they going? Has someone you know suddenly been in possession of a large quantity of cash?”
Witnesses or anyone with information about the identity of suspects are asked to contact Fareham Police Station by phoning 101. Mini-com users can phone 01962 875000. Information can be given anonymously by phoning the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
