Apprentice Recruits Wanted In Portsmouth
Portsmouth's putting on one of its largest apprenticeship recruitment events ever.
'Apprenticeships Deliver - Get on Board' takes place today (Thursday 7 March) at The Victory Suite, Fratton Park with more than 250 different types of apprenticeships available offering over 1,400 job roles.
The event includes a breakfast seminar for employers between 8am and 9.30am which is being attended by the Lord Mayor, Cllr Frank Jonas.
The seminar aims to give employers the opportunity to find out about the benefits and rewards of the apprenticeship scheme and the current funding available for employers that recruit an apprentice. There will also be the opportunity to meet local employers who have already taken on apprentices and young people who are taking part in the apprenticeship scheme.
Parents, carers and young people are invited to attend the event between 3pm and 6.30pm where they can learn more from employers and training providers, meet apprentices and get hands-on experience - no booking required.
Schools and pupils are also being invited during the day to meet employers, training providers, current apprentices and have a go at some activities.
This event is being run by the National Apprenticeship Service in partnership with Portsmouth City Council and the Association of Learning Providers Hampshire and IOW (ALPHI).
