84 Year Old Man Beaten Up In Southsea

Police are investigating an assault on an elderly man in Southsea.

he 84-year-old was walking along Albert Road when he was passed by two men, one of whom punched him.

It happened between 3.45pm and 4pm on Saturday, December 1, 2012.
 
The victim fell to the floor and received a serious injury to one of his hips. He has received treatment in hospital.
 
The suspect was described as:
 
"    Mixed race
"    Aged in his 30s
"    5 ft 7 ins tall
"    Stocky build
"    Dark short hair
 
The second male was described as:
 
"    White
"    Aged in his 30s
"    5ft 9 ins tall
"    Slim build.
 
Investigating officer Detective Constable Stephen Ryan said:  "This was an isolated crime where an 84-year-old man was attacked for no apparent reason. He was punched and fell to the floor causing a hip injury. He will remain in hospital for a considerable amount of time. We're appealing for any witnesses to contact the police following this shocking attack."
