Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died when his motorbike was in collision with a car in Hampshire on Thursday evening (4 July).

At around 5.15pm, a Honda Blackbird motorcycle driven by a 40-year-old man from the Bordon area was in collision at Oakhanger,  with a silver Mitsubishi Shogun driven by a 60-year old man from the Alton area.

The rider suffered serious injuries and died shortly after. No-one else was injured and no arrests were made.

Officers from the Roads Policing Unit at Fratton are currently investigating the incident under the name Operation Wealth; and are appealing for any witnesses to contact PC Julia Shaw at Fratton police station.

They are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a large horse transporter, described as being silver with horses painted on the rear of the vehicle and maroon zig zags running down the side.

Anyone with information should call Fratton RPU on 101, quoting Operation Wealth.
