Police are warning Hampshire businesses working in the agricultural and aborcultural industry to be alert following two overnight burglaries this week.

Sometime after 5.30pm on Tuesday 11 November, trailer-based wood chippers and a number of chain saws were stolen after thieves broke into commercial premises in Greenaway Lane in Warsash and Funtley Lane in Titchfield.

The stolen equipment and tools were worth over £45,000 in combined value.

Local Safer Neighbourhoods officer, PC Jim Heath said:

"Please can all local businesses and trade persons remain vigilant and make sure they have security in place on sites where they store plant equipment and tools.

"I would ask anyone who has been offered this type of equipment for sale, or saw anyone acting suspiciously in those areas to contact Fareham Police Station on 101 quoting 44140406778 / 44140406980."
