Biker Who Died In West Meon Crash Named
Police have confirmed that a motorcyclist who died in a crash at West Meon on February 10th was Gavin Kwabena Wallis from Gosport.
The 33-year-old was riding his white BMW motorcycle along the A272 Winchester Road at 2.30pm when he collided with a Mercedes vehicle recovery truck.
Mr Wallis sustained serious injuries and died at the scene. The truck driver, a 40-year-old man from Midhurst, was unharmed..
The road was closed between West Meon Hut and Privet for six hours while accident investigators examined the scene and awaited recovery for the vehicles. It was re-opened at 8:30pm.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior to it, to call Sgt Wayne Voller of Fratton Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Tamtam.
