19 Year Old Dies After Romsey Crash

Police are searching for the driver of a Vauxhall car after a 19 year old died in Romsey, Hampshire.

He had been walking along the A3057 around 10.30 p.m. on Friday night (20th April) when he was hit by a Vauxhall heading towards Romsey. Police tell Capital the car didn't stop and the man died at the scene.

Inspector Kirsty Shannon from the Roads Policing Unit said “We are appealing for information on the whereabouts of the old style Vauxhall Astra Mark 3, registration prefix between K and S, which was involved in the collision. The vehicle would have sustained some substantial damage to the windscreen, is missing its front offside wing mirror and has a smashed front offside headlight.

“I would appeal for the driver, or anyone with information about the collision, to contact the police straight away.”

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact the Road Death Investigation Team at Eastleigh Police Station as soon as possible by phoning 101, quoting Operation Tansy.
