Two men have appeared in court charged with causing the death of a teenage girl by dangerous driving.

The 15-year-old, named locally as Robyn Fryar, was out with friends in Paisley, Renfrewshire, at around 2am on Sunday and was crossing Glenburn Road near Fereneze Drive when she was hit by a car.

She was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow but died a short time later.

Shaun Gatti and David Kinnon, both aged 20, were charged with causing death by dangerous driving when they appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.

Gatti was also charged with a further two traffic offences and with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Neither man entered a plea and both were granted bail.
