Teenage Boys Face Charges Over Ayrshire Shooting
Two boys aged 15 and 18 years old are due to appear in court in connection with yesterdays airgun attack on a group of school pupils in Auchinleck.
The pair have been charged over the incident in which pellets hit 11 youngsters aged between 12 and 16 years old - they're expected at Ayr Sheriff court later.
None of the victims from Auchinleck Academy were seriously injured although its thought one remains in Crosshouse Hospitla in Kilmarnock.
Officers were called to reports an airgun had been fired in the town's Church Street at around 1.40pm.
Local MP and MSP Cathy Jamieson said the incident, which happened less than half a mile from the school, highlighted the danger air weapons pose to communities.
Plans are currently under way to hand responsibility for airgun legislation from Westminster to the Scottish Government.
