Skin Cancer Rates Triple In 3 Decades

1 in 4 middle aged Scots are diagnosed with a deadly form of skin cancer every week.

Cancer Research have said cases of malignant melanoma have trebled since the 1970's.

Back then only 9 people per 100,000 aged 50 and 59 suffered from the disease.

The increase has prompted the charity to launch a campaign in partnership with supermarket chain Tesco to raise awareness about the early signs of cancer.
