The incident happened at around 11.30pm on Saturday as she was walking in a lane connecting Kellie Wynd and Menteith View in Dunblane.
The suspect is described as white, 16-25 years old, 5ft 11ins, average build and spoke with a strong Scottish accent.
He was wearing dark-coloured Converse-type trainers and a top with dark sleeves.
Detective Sergeant Johnny Dreczkowski said: "The victim was understandably very shaken by this and we're conducting a number of inquiries in the area in an effort to trace the perpetrator.
"We're also appealing for the public's help and I'd urge anyone who may have seen this male in the area, or who recognises his description, to come forward.''
