Salmond Becomes Longest Serving FM
Alex Salmond has become the country's longest serving First Minister.
The SNP leader has been in the job now for 2002 days, overtaking Jack McConnell who had previously held the record.
Mr Salmond made history by heading the first SNP Government in 2007, and his party's landslide election victory at last year's Holyrood elections has ensured Scots will get the chance to vote on independence in 2014.
