Two pupils were taken to hospital after suspected drugs misuse at a school in North Ayrshire.
The 12-year-old girl and 13-year-old boy were taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, after they became unwell at St Matthew's Academy in Saltcoats.
Police Scotland said enquiries were continuing into the case but the pair have since been released from hospital.
A spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that we received a report on Monday November 7 of two pupils - a 12-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy - at a North Ayrshire school having taken unwell following what is believed to be an incident of drugs misuse.
"Both were taken to Crosshouse Hospital for observations before being released.''
A North Ayrshire Council spokeswoman said the local authority was aware of the case.
She added: "We are assisting police with their enquiries.''
The incident follows a police warning about "ecstasy-type tablets'' after recent cases involving teenagers.
