Police Probe Suspicious Death After Body Found In Glasgow Flat

Police are investigating a suspicious death after the body of a man was discovered in a flat.

Officers found the body in a flat in Lincoln Avenue in the Knightswood area of Glasgow at around 8.45pm on Monday.

The death is being treated as suspicious by officers. He is yet to be formally identified.

Police are carrying out door-to-door inquiries and looking at local CCTV as they investigate the circumstances of the man's death.

Detective Inspector Alan McAlpine, who is leading the investigation, said: ''A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the exact cause of death. We are treating the death as suspicious at this time.

''Extensive inquiries are ongoing and specialist forensic teams have been active at the scene.

''At this time I am seeking the assistance of the local community to provide us with any information. I am asking them to think back across the last week. Have you heard anything unusual? Did you witness any kind of disturbance? The information you have may not seem like much, but as part of our broader investigation it could make all the difference.''
