Man dead after Falkirk flat fire

A person has died after a fire broke out in a flat in Falkirk this morning.

Around 30 firefighters were called to David's Loan in the Bainsford area of Falkirk when the blaze took hold of a first floor flat around 4.30am.

Crews found one person as they fought to dampen the flames, who they say was transferred into the care of the Ambulance service.

They later told us the person had died.

Crews remain on the scene as an investigation gets underway.
