A murder inquiry has been launched after a man was found dead in his South Lanarkshire home.
Police were called to a report of a man found injured at a property in Donaldson Street, Hamilton, at around 11.55pm on Tuesday November 15.
Emergency services attended and the man, 27-year-old Joseph McMenemy, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following a post-mortem examination, detectives said they were treating the death as murder and appealed for information.
Detective Inspector Rory Hamilton, from Police Scotland's major investigation teams, said: ''A man has died a violent death and it is absolutely critical that we get to the bottom of who is responsible.
''Extensive inquiries are under way to establish the circumstances of this incident but we need support from the local community to find answers for Joseph McMenemy's family.
''If you were in the surrounding area late on Tuesday evening and saw or heard anything suspicious, we would like to hear from you.
''I am confident that somebody must know something about who is involved and I would appeal to anyone with information to come forward and speak to us as a matter of urgency.''
Mr McMenemy was from the Hamilton area.
