Man Arrested For Alleged Cemetery Rape

A man has been arrested after a woman was allegedly raped in a city cemetery.

The 20-year-old woman was assaulted in Eastern Cemetery off Easter Road, Edinburgh in the early hours of Saturday, September 19.

She had been on a night out and began walking after realising there were no buses due.

Police said that a 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged.

He is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
