Man charged over alleged church rape

A 36 year old man has been charged in connection with an alleged rape in a North Ayrshire church.
Police got reports of a woman being assaulted in the grounds of St John’s Church, Hayocks Road, Stevenston on Monday 9th July.
The man is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
