Man Arrested In Sex Assault Investigation

A man has been arrested over a serious sexual assault on a 15-year-old girl.
Police were called to an incident close to Vennel Street in Stewarton, East Ayrshire, at around 2.50am on Sunday.
An 18-year-old man has now been arrested in connection with the assault and is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police responded to a report of a 15-year-old girl having been seriously sexually assaulted close to Vennel Street in Stewarton.
"An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.''
