A teenager has been raped in a playpark in Edinburgh.
Police said the incident happened in West Pilton Park in the north of the city between 11pm and midnight on Tuesday.
A statement from Police Scotland said: ``Police in Edinburgh are currently investigating the serious sexual assault of a 16-year-old female which took place at a playpark in the West Pilton Park area on Tuesday.
"Officers are currently following a positive line of enquiry in relation to this but would appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
"Anyone who may have been in the area between 11pm and midnight is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.''
