Two men have been arrested and more than £60,000 of drugs seized in a police raid.

Officers searched a property in Langlands Place, East Kilbride, at around 2.15pm on Tuesday and found herbal and plant cannabis.

The plants were said to have a street value of £50,000 and the herbal form worth £12,000.

Two men, both aged 29, were arrested and detained over alleged drug offences.

They are due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Sergeant Brian Scanlan said: "Drugs and the people who supply them have absolutely no place in our communities and we have teams of specialist officers working every day to tackle this issue.

"Once again intelligence received from a member of the public has proved invaluable to a police investigation.

"Support from members of the public is absolutely vital to our work and we would continue to encourage people to pass on any information regarding drugs activity in their area.

"Anyone with information can contact their local police station via 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence."
