Cabinet To Discuss Gay Marriage

The Scottish Government's preparing to announce whether it intends to legalise same sex marriage.

It would become the first part of the UK to do so. 

The plan has generated eighty-thousand responses in a consultation. 

The Catholic Church wants a referendum, saying there's intense public interest in the subject.

The Government will meet at Bute House in Edinburgh to discuss the proposals today.
