Body found in search for missing school girl

A body has been found in the search for a teenager who went missing after her first day back at school on Lewis.

17-year-old Hannah MacKenzie disappeared on Thursday afternoon, she was last outside the Nicolson Institute at around 4pm.

Police Scotland have now confirmed that a body has been found in the grounds of Stornoway Castle.

Hannah's family has been told, although formal identification has yet to take place.

Area Commander for the Western Isles, Chief Inspector Ian Graham said: "Our thoughts at this difficult time are with all concerned."
