X-Factor Contestant Admits Glassing Ex
An X Factor hopeful from Gateshead whose band was axed from the show has admitted glassing her ex-boyfriend.
Lucie Slater, 21, from Ryton, pleaded guilty to unlawfully wounding William Scott Aitken in June.
Judge Toby Hedworth, sitting at Newcastle Crown Court, adjourned sentence for three weeks to allow for reports to be prepared. He warned her: ``Please understand that all of the court's sentencing options will be open to me.''
Slater left court with a group of friends and family members to shield her from a photographer.
She was part of the girl band Quantro who were thrown off X Factor after the glassing allegation came to light.
Slater was charged with the more serious offence of wounding with intent but her plea to the lesser charge - which relates to an incident that happened at her victim's Northumberland home - was accepted by the prosecution.
Peter Schofield, defending, said: ``She accepts she had a glass in her hand.'' Her victim, a DJ at the Tiger Tiger venue in Newcastle, suffered facial injuries. The promotions worker was granted bail on condition she only enters Northumberland to visit family in Prudhoe, lives at a specified address and does not enter the Tiger Tiger club.
Fellow band members Carly Ahmad, Emily Dyson and Hannah Gray were angry at losing out on their shot at fame. They tweeted in July: ``Due to the actions of one individual of the band Carly, Hannah and Emily can announce that we have been disqualified from our place on this year's X Factor. ``We would like to thank everybody so so much from the bottom of our hearts for the support everyone gave us it meant everything and will strive us to continue doing what we love. Keep your dreams alive.''
