Man Charged With Murder In Newcastle

A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead at a house in Newcastle.
The 25 year old man appeared at Newcastle Magistrates Court on Saturday morning.
Police were called to an address on Ladykirk Road in Benwell at 10.51pm on Thursday night.
Officers found a 23 year old woman inside the house with serious injuries.
A murder investigation is now underway and enquiries are ongoing into the incident.
A section of Ladykirk Road was cordoned off while enquiries are carried out by officers in the area.
