Woman Dies after Being Hit By A Car In Middlesbrough

A woman has died after being hit by a car on a busy road in Middlesbrough.

The woman, who was in her 50s, was killed when she was struck by a Hyundai in Saltersgill Avenue at 6:35pm last night.

She was taken to the James Cook University Hospital but died soon afterwards.

Her name has not yet been released.

A 19-year-old man was arrested at the scene for dangerous driving.
