A woman who was being held by police under the Mental Health Act following an 8 hour stand off in Saltburn's been released
The 40 year old was detained at 7:20pm last night (Tuesday 13th March) and was arrested under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act.
It's after armed police, bomb disposal experts from Catterick Garrison and trained negotiators spent 8 hours in a stand off situation on the sea front at Saltburn near Redcar.
Police were originally called just after 11am as they say it was thought she had suspicious items with her and "concerns were raised for her welfare''.
