Unemployment Falls By 7,000 In The North East

The number of people out of work in the North East's fallen by 7,000 in the three months between January and March .
Official figures show there were 96,030 people who were unemployed in our region during that time.
It's fallen by 33,000 compared to this time last year.
More men than women were out of work here - with 51,000 jobless men in the North East compared to 45,000 women.
But the North East still has the highest unemployment rate in the country, at 7.5%.
