UK Surf Competition Comes To Saltburn

Professional surfers from around the UK are coming to Saltburn for the UK Pro Surfing Championships this weekend.

The competition takes place on Saturday and Sunday October 19th and 20th on Saltburn's lower prom / beach area.

The UK Pro Surfing Championships is the only professional surfing tour in the UK.

More than 100 of the UK's top surfers will compete between 10am and 4pm each day (weather dependent) to win the national title.

The event in Saltburn is staff 3 of the competition.

Newcastle surfer Sandy Kerr's the North East's regional hopeful.

The two-day event is free to view and features five categories.

Timings for each category will depend on the weather and surf.
