Newcastle have tied down midfielder Cheick Tiote on a new long-term six-and-a-half-year contract.
The 24-year-old, Ivory Coast international, joined from FC Twente in the summer and is now thought to be on around 50 thousand pounds a week. The long term contract means he'll be 30 by the time it expires.
He's been a crucial player this season and scored the equaliser as Newcastle drew 4-4 with Arsenal earlier this month.
