Three Arrests After Newcastle Death

Three people have been arrested after a man was found dead in the street near the Byker Wall in the early hours of Saturday.
Police were called at 2.18am this morning after reports of a disturbance.
Officers attended and found a man, thought to be in his 40s, lying in the street.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man has not yet been formally identified and next of kin are being informed.
A 19-year-old man, a 26-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the death and are currently in police custody.
Leading the investigation DCI Christina Barrett said:
"This death appears to involve a number of people who were all known to each other.
We have officers conducting enquiries in the area today and we would ask that anyone with information contact us.
We will also have additional neighbourhood officers in the Byker Wall area to offer reassurance to local residents and to support the investigative team."
