Three men have been arrested after a huge fire at a wood recycling plant on Port Clarence Road in Billingham.
They're all in their late teens and early 20s and have been arrested on suspicion of arson.
Fire crews were called at 11:26am on Saturday (10th March) to the Jigsaw Wood Recycling Plant in Port Clarence Road, High Clarence, Middlesbrough.
Seven appliances in total were needed to bring the blaze under control - one from Billingham and another six from Stockton, Middlesbrough and Hartlepool, along with an emergency tender and hydraulic platform to pump water direct from the River Tees.
Local residents have been advised to keep out of the path of the smoke wherever possible and anyone who thinks they might have fallen ill from inhaling the non-toxic wood smoke should contact NHS Direct on 08454647 or see their GP.
