Teenager Stabbed In Sunderland

A teenager is in hospital after being stabbed in the early hours of yesterday morning in Sunderland.

The incident happened at 6.10 in the morning on Petersfield Road in Pennywell.

The 18-year-old suffered puncture wounds and was taken to the RVI for treatment where his condition is described as stable and not considered
life-threatening.

A 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and is currently in police custody.

Officers are carrying out enquiries into the incident and appealing for witnesses.

Extra officers will be in the area.
