Teenager Sentenced Over Boys Death

A 19 year old from Norton's been sentenced to 3 years in a young offenders institute for causing the death of 9 year old Brandon Maggs by dangerous driving.
James Burns from Aston Road admitted causing the death of Brandon Maggs by driving dangerously on Roundhill Avenue, Ingleby Barwick on July 15th 2010.
Brandon had been playing on his scooter near his home when he was knocked over by Burns.
He was airlifted to The James Cook University Hospital by the Great North Air Ambulance, but he died a few hours later
After Brandon's death residents in Ingleby Barwick began a campaign to lower the speed limit in the area to 20mph.
