Sunderland Teens In Hospital

Police received a report from the ambulance service after three teenagers were taken to hospital after taking medication which had not been prescribed for them.

The three boys aged 14, 15 and 16 years, were taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital yesterday evening, after consuming tablets in a blister pack believed to have been prescribed for Multiple Sclerosis.

Two of them were later transferred to the RVI. All three remain in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

Following enquiries, it is believed the tablets have been taken at an unknown location in Sunderland. Officers are still trying to locate this place and want to ensure that no medication is still left where others could come across it.

Police are keen to trace the remaining medication which may be in the area of Kidd Square and warn anyone who finds the medication to hand it straight in to police.
