Stiff competition for Teeside Steel Jobs

A thousand jobs are up for grabs at the old Chorus steel plant in Redcar but 10 thousand people are expected to apply.

The site which was closed in February 2010 is going to be reopened by SSI Steel. 

The Thai firm bought the company and plan to re-start the furnace by the end of this year. 

SSI will be accepting online applications from today and will begin interviews next month.
