Police looking for missing Newcastle Uni student Jason Fyles, want to speak to a Good Samaritan they think he spoke to
The 19 year old was last seen at an address on Helmsley Road, Sandyford, Newcastle, at 2.45am on Thursday May 16th.
He had gone to visit friends after a night out in Newcastle city centre.
When he got to Helmsley Road at around 2.25am he spoke to a man in the street who helped him find his way to his friends' house.
The Good Samaritan is described as being around 20 years old, 5ft 8ins tall, of stocky / athletic build, with short light blond or ginger hair and a pale complexion. He was wearing a white v-neck t-shirt.
Superintendent Andy McDyer said:
"We know that Jason spoke to this man before going into his friends' house and we believe that he may have information that would help us to understand Jason's state of mind at the time.
This was not the last sighting of Jason, but speaking to him will help us to build a picture of Jason's movements before he went missing.
We are carrying out extensive enquiries to trace Jason's whereabouts and we are appealing for anyone who thinks they may have seen him since last Thursday to contact us."
Jason, from Bowsden Court, Gosforth, is a student at Newcastle University where he is studying town planning.
He is 5ft 9ins tall, of very slim build with a pale complexion and short ginger hair. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, grey jumper, beige chino trousers and ankle length brown leather shoes.
He is originally from Merseyside, and his family have appealed for Jason to get in touch to let them know he is safe.
Anyone who has seen Jason is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191.
