Olympic Football Comes To St James' Park

The first Olympic football matches to be played at St James' Park take place today.

First up it's the turn of Mexico v South Korea (Kick off at 2pm)

They're followed by Switzerland v Gabon (kick off at 5:15pm)

There was a long queue at St James' Park box office this morning (Thursday 26th July) as people went to buy last minute tickets to today's matches.

Thousands of people travelled into the city centre in their team colours with fancy dress and face paints of each of the 4 teams.
