Olympic Flame Coming to North East

We know where and when you'll be able to see the Olympic torch in the North East next summer

The torch will tour more than a thousand towns, cities and villages on its way to the capital for the Olympic Games

Organisers of London 2012 say 95% of us will be within ten miles of the flame at some point on the relay - and it will visit every county.

Travelling by different methods of transport including horseback, bicycle, tram and steam-train, the Olympic Torch Relay will also include exciting moments with extreme heights, high speeds and breath-taking spectacles.

It will be carried on a zip-wire from the Tyne Bridge in Newcastle. Other North East landmarks the flame will visit include Hadrian's Wall, the Angel of the North, St Mary's Lighthouse and the Penshaw Monument.
