Newcastle United will be the first team in the Barclays Premier League to produce their official matchday programme in 3D for their game against Stoke City this weekend.

80 per cent of the 84 page programme will be in 3D

Only two sporting clubs have tried this ambitious style in the past, with South Londoners Millwall and Irish rugby union giants Leinster both producing 3D programmes with great success.

Now the Magpies have become the first top-flight club to go down the 3D route, and they're hoping it'll be a big hit with the Toon Army this Saturday.

Wendy Taylor, Head of Media at Newcastle United, said:
"We wanted to try something different with our programme, and with just two home games left, this seemed like the perfect opportunity to try it as a one-off.

It's been in production for the past couple of weeks and we're really pleased with it. The handful of players that have seen it have been really impressed and hopefully the fans will be too."

As well as exclusive interviews with Demba Ba and Tim Krul, plus regular columns from manager Alan Pardew and captain Fabricio Coloccini, the programme features dozens of 3D images, including some of the Club's best goals from the season so far.

Priced at £3, the programme, complete with special 3D glasses, will be on sale in the Official Club Store at St James' Park and around the ground ahead of Saturday's match.
