Newcastle's come 3rd in a table of top cities offering the best quality of life to 18-30 year olds.
The research, by Legal and General, asked over 2,000 people living in 20 cities across the UK to rank their city based on 10 different criteria:
1. Cost of living
2. A job I enjoy
3. A good work life balance
4. Good local job opportunities
5. The ability to save money
6. Good wages
7. Low crime rates
8. Good choice of culture and entertainment
9. A nice environment
10. Reasonable rates for renting a home
As well as revealing the best city for young adults, the research identified key facts about each city and its appeal to its young inhabitants.
Newcastle is the top city for saving money - with young adults putting away more each month than in any other city in the report.
On average young people from Newcastle save £274.60 each month, 69% more when compared with an average of £162.90 saved each month by 18-30 year olds throughout the UK.
Edinburgh is UK's culture and entertainment hotspot, with the Scottish capital ranking first for culture and entertainment.
Meanwhile Leeds is the top city for housing for young adults - it has the highest proportion of 18-30 year olds owning their own homes at 35%.
